What is Accreditation & UKAS?

ISO & UKAS

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the sole national accreditation body recognised by the government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.

Bluezone Scientific must fulfil the requirements of ISO IEC 17025:2017 (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories) to achieve and maintain UKAS accreditation.

ISO17025 is based upon ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems Requirements) used for manufacturing etc. but is adapted for laboratories.
